Well, camp wasn't this much fun when I was a kid. I've learned a ton from some amazing bloggers, indulged in a few moments of "squee!" hero-worship, and made a bunch of really great new friends. 2010 was one hell of a year, but it was rough and I couldn't wait for it to end. This perfect start to 2011 makes me think that only good things can come and there's just so much to look forward to.
So, thanks, Food Blog Camp, for a ton of great memories, new skills, and new friends. I really hope I do this next year and, if not, the only thing that keeps me away is that I'm a first-year med student.
Our fearless leaders were awesome. Needless to say, I learned a lot from them.
Grand Velas Riviera Maya is a pretty amazing place, eh? I became used to seeing this daily.
What remains after food stylists and photographers Adam Pearson and Matt Armendariz work their magic.
Todd Porter of White on Rice Couple gave me a hand with this shot. Meeting Todd and Diane was a one of the many highlights of the camp.
Friendships are easily made, but tequila always helps.
Juice bar at the breakfast buffet. I had fresh squeezed tangerine juice every day and it was incredible.
I want this pool in my backyard. That is all.
My awesome roommate, the lovely Rosa from SaVUry and Sweet, loves this shot of one of the resort's chefs during a cooking demonstration.
The buildings in our area of the resort were connected by these gorgeous walkways. Along the way is one of the three cenotes on the Grand Velas property.
And lastly, the view from our room.
Right now, I'm going to let the pictures do the talking. Lovely folks from the camp have written some great posts:

Hey lady! Enjoyed your two FBC posts and laughed about the bit about nearly dropping David's camera and smiled at all of our hands clinking tequila glasses. Good luck with that genetics course!
Thank you for sharing your pictures from the Food Blog camp. Until Da from Kitchen corners told us about it we had never even heard of such. I hope you have a great day and enjoy your time back home.
