Happy Father's Day! I'm going to post a more appropriate, non-cold-medicine-influenced ode to my dad soon.
Needless to say, it's been quite a week.
Almost immediately after our Cost Plus World Market lunch for Foodbuzz Tastemakers, Dan didn't look so good. He did fry up all of those wonderful fries for the lunch, so I thought he might have been in front of hot oil for too long.
Then, the sniffles came.
He tore through a box of Kleenex before he started to feel better, which was within the next couple of days. I typically don't catch his colds easily, but by Wednesday afternoon, I felt like a zombie at work. I started feeling some symptoms, but it was the crazy exhaustion that was telltale of a battle between the immune system and some bug. It seemed the body knew there were things to be done. Work was busy, I have a lot of writing to do for applications and projects, and I was meeting with some fabulous local bloggers for brunch.
I was fully functional and feeling decent for all of that, but once the brunch was over, I morphed into a snotty mess, crashed, and totally forgot that I promised to post a winner on Saturday. So, first things first... the winner of the Taste of Adams Avenue is Kim, with her comment of:
Kim, I'm going to email you and we'll work out the details from there.
In other news, the first San Diego Food Bloggers Roundtable went off swimmingly. When you say "potluck brunch" to a bunch of food bloggers, you can guarantee a lovely meal. Here's to a fabulous group for the first Roundtable, where we discussed how-tos and the trials and tribulations of social media.
Amanda of The Cilantropist
Kathy of Panini Happy and Cooking on the Side
Lisa of The Gonzo Gourmet
Leanne of Three Dog Kitchen
Darlene of My Burning Kitchen
Stacy of Little Blue Hen
Cynthia of Gemini Desserts
Snehal of Foodilicious
Erin of San Diego Sugar
Ish of A Fine Kettle of Ish
Kim of Liv Life Too
Lots of talking and exchanging experiences and ideas. I was so excited to spend some quality time with some amazing people and can't wait for more.
If you're a San Diego food blogger and want to participate, please shoot me an email at moowiesqrd {at} meanderingeats {dot} com and you'll definitely hear about the next one, which is July 9 and the topic is Editorializing.
Other San Diego food blogging social media outlets:
If you're on Facebook, there are two pages for San Diego's food bloggers here and here. Many involved in the planning of events generally post on both pages. Also, on Twitter, there's the #sdfoodbloggers hash tag, which will lead to info about roundtables and fun get-togethers.
